Whilst I realise that nobody will believe me, here's the story behind this image.

This picture, in black and white, was drawn by a young air cadet (about 14 years old) in 1990 or 1991 at the time of the first gulf war. Originally the name of the artist was written along the nose of the Tornado - Flt Lt D Cudby if memory serves.

I sent the drawing to my then boyfriend, a soldier serving with the Royal Signals, then in Saudi.

I think the original may still be in my loft.

Interesting story Liz. I remember my Uncle gave me a black & white of this image around that time, I dunno where he got it from though

My dad was in a band in OKC, Oklahoma and in the practice room there was this cartoon posted on a cork board in black and white. Not sure if the name was on the nose or not, but at about 8 or 9 I remember thinking it was hilarious.
